Hasan Nawaz Earns Maiden ODI Call-Up as Pakistan Announce Squads for WI Tour

Pakistan have announced their squads for the upcoming white-ball tour of the West Indies, featuring both ODI and T20I matches.

Uncapped batter Hasan Nawaz has been included in the ODI squad for the first time, while Shaheen Shah Afridi also returns to both limited-overs formats.

The 22-year-old Hasan Nawaz, known for his aggressive batting style, made headlines earlier this year with a century in just his third T20I after starting his international career with two ducks against New Zealand.

Hasan Ali also returns to the T20I lineup after missing the recent Bangladesh series. He played T20 Blast in England during that time and now makes a comeback in both T20Is and ODIs. This marks a potential return to ODI cricket for him since the 2023 World Cup.

Some recent squad members, including Salman Mirza and Abbas Afridi, have been left out, while Mohammad Nawaz and Hussain Talat continue to feature in both formats.

The ODI series will be held at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Trinidad and Tobago on August 8, 10, and 12.

Before that, Pakistan will face the West Indies in a three-match T20I series on July 31, August 2, and 3 at the Central Broward Park and Broward County Stadium in Lauderhill, USA.

The team is scheduled to arrive in the United States on July 27, following the conclusion of their T20I series in Bangladesh.
